Programs & Schools
Eight schools.
One college.
Each axis of the equation is taught as its own academic discipline. Each school carries its own faculty, course catalog, and research seminars. The College of Conceptual Mastery is the integrative ninth, where the equation is taught as one.
I—IV
The four somatic schools.
PO, NM, ER, and SC. The body, the brain, the feeling, the meaning. Foundations 100-level open in every fall cohort.
V—VIII
The four contextual schools.
RS, ES, TA, PV. The other people, the place, the tools, the purpose. Equally weighted, equally rigorous.
IX
College of Conceptual Mastery.
Required for every degree candidate. Open to every auditor. Where the eight schools meet. Where the equation is taught not as eight things but as one. The CHU 100-level inaugural course is offered in the first month of every fall term.
Course numbering
How to read a CHU number.
Two letters denote the school (e.g. PO, NM, ER). The first digit denotes level: 1 = foundations, 2 = intermediate, 3 = advanced, 4 = capstone. The next two digits sequence within level. Example: PO 320 is the third advanced course in Physiological Optimization.
